Volunteer
Our volunteers make the Prison Library Project possible. They read inmate letters, select books and prepare books to be mailed. Each letter is a chance to connect someone “inside” with the community.

Donate Used Books
Our project depends on donated books to survive. We always need quality used books and as a 501(c)(3) your donation is tax deductible. We will gladly accept donations of new or used books from individuals, publishers, and booksellers.
What We Need:
Dictionaries, Thesaurus, Spanish/English Dictionaries, Language learning books, DIY, Business (particularly how to start your own business), Nutrition, Medical, Composition books, Self-help, Spirituality, Puzzle books, Philosophy, Science, African American history, Arcana, Spanish, Architecture, Photography
We Do Not Accept:

General encyclopedias
-
Magazines (except for National Geographic)
-
Books on cassette
-
VHS tapes
-
Heavily worn books
-
Books with excessive writing or highlighting
-
Books that are damp or moldy
-
Out-of-date travel and computer books (should be no more than five years.

Loose books: please make sure any donation you bring in is in a cardboard box or bag.

The Claremont Forum can be supported by donations of any size. Donated funds go to provide postage and other support for the Prison Library Project.
