About The Event

Works Unshown. Many Artists found themselves in a weird place during the pandemic. Lockdown or quarantine affected more than just an artist's ability to show or sell work, but it limited inspiration. Many of the most basic interactions in life can be inspirational and this group of work I'm interested in exhibiting reflects that exact feeling. A majority of the works I'm presenting for display were painted during the pandemic and try to reflect both the anxiety and isolation we collectively felt during that time while also addressing how that time brought an awareness for some to the beautiful and artistic reality of the mundane experiences that may have previously been overlooked in our daily lives.

About the Artist: Troy Guard is a mixed media artist whose work blends elements of realism, abstraction, and surrealism. Based out of the Inland Empire in California, his art explores the relationship between the physical and metaphysical realms, seeking to uncover the hidden patterns that connect the two. Troy's work tends to be rich in texture and color, often in the form of intricate patterns or expressive brushstrokes. He is particularly interested in exploring the ways in which we find our inner worlds reflected in our external worlds, or vice versa. He also seeks to uncover the deeper connections we make with small things in our everyday lives. Troy's art invites viewers to explore their own inner worlds, to consider the ways in which our identities, experiences, and memories shape our understanding of the world around us as well as how those same things tend to shape us and our inner worlds.
