Sunday Market Update

The Farmers Market re-opened in mid-June with several changes. In order to comply with local and county guidelines, we have increased hygienic practices — both staff practices and practices by venders and shoppers — and implemented and observed additional safety details prescribed to all open-air food markets in Los Angeles County.

We hope to continue improvements to the Market to make your visits there that much nicer and to encourage your weekly visits to support the local farmers as well as to offer fresh organic produce to our friends and neighbors.

One Dollar Book Sale

We are pleased to bring you a big, big one dollar book sale on Friday and Saturday, October 16 & 17th from 11 AM to 5 PM. Look for us in the north entrance of the Packing House – – – there will be LOTS of fresh air and BOOKS!

This month, the Claremont Forum is pleased to present recent paintings by the local artist, Joy McAllister.

McAllister’s use of color and gesture speaks to the natural world in a way that is both representational and abstract. Between these two modes of presentation, the work makes alliances with neither, and is then available to communicate in a way that is at once specific and open ended.

Joy McAllister is a working artist living in the Pomona Arts Colony. Since earning her BFA in 1975 from the Otis Art Institute she has pursued a variety of artistic expression. In addition to being an established and respected muralist and musician, her work as a multimedia artist includes painting, ceramics, and printmaking.
