First Saturday Art Walk: Sonia Sleeger

Sonia Sleeger is a multi-disciplinary artist who loves to create wherever her heart leads her on any given day. She has been an active member of the Claremont art scene for 7 years, and is on the board of the Pomona Valley Art Association.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

For those of you who do not know me, my name is Sonia Sleeger and I am a self-taught artist.  My art journey began

about seven years ago.  An outlet to relieve the stresses of care-giving.  After creating pieces for friends and

family, I had the courage to join Heather and Kevin Gonzales years ago at Shelton Park where they were able to

showcase a few artists. That in turn gave me the confidence to join the Pomona Valley Art Association located on 1st Street.

I began with acrylic pouring but quickly moved to using all different mediums such as watercolor, oil pastels, oil, alcohol inks

and mixed media.  I love it all!

I originally considered myself an abstract artist.   However, I think a good way to describe me is a multi-disciplinary artist

who loves to create wherever her heart leads her on any given day.  Currently, you can view my artwork at
